Reading Time: 5 Minutes (Save ₹24,000 by reading this first!)
Namaskar!
Poco is known for one thing: Bhaari specs at a Halka price. After disrupting the phone market, they have finally entered the Tablet arena with the POCO Pad Series.
In India, the star of the show is the POCO Pad 5G.
When you hold it for the first time, only one thought comes to mind: "Bhaisaab, yeh tablet hai ya mini TV?" (Brother, is this a tablet or a mini TV?). But Guru, a big screen isn't everything. We have used this slate extensively to tell you if it's truly "Paisa Vasool" or if there is a "Locha" (catch).
Here is the GMBTech full breakdown.
1. The Display: "Chalta Phirta Cinema Hall"
Let's talk about the elephant in the room—the size.
The Specs: 12.1-inch 2.5K LCD Display with 120Hz Refresh Rate.
The Experience:
Ideally, tablets are 10-11 inches. This one is 12.1 inches. It feels massive.
Watching Netflix or YouTube? It’s a treat. The colors are punchy (Dolby Vision support), and the brightness (600 nits) is decent for indoor use.
The Aspect Ratio (16:10): This is perfect for movies. You won't see those thick black bars that irritate you on iPads.
GMBVerdict: If you want a device strictly for "Bingewatching," this is a jackpot.
2. Performance: "Dum Hai ya Bas Ghum Hai?"
Under the hood, it packs the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor.
For Students/Office: You can open 5-6 apps, run Zoom in a floating window, and edit a Word doc simultaneously. No tension. HyperOS helps in multitasking.
For Gamers: Listen carefully. This is NOT a gaming beast.
BGMI/COD: It runs smooth on 'High' settings, but don't expect 90FPS flagship performance.
Genshin Impact: It will struggle if you max out the graphics. It gets a bit warm, but doesn't turn into a tava (frying pan).
3. Battery: The "Kumbhakarna" Situation
The Good: It has a massive 10,000 mAh battery.
You can watch videos for 12-14 hours straight. For a normal user, it easily lasts 2 days.
The Bad (The Locha): The charging speed is 33W.
Guru, charging a 10,000 mAh battery with a 33W charger is a test of your patience. It takes over 2 hours to go from 0 to 100%. Plug it in at night and forget about it.
4. Accessories: "Jeb Dheeli Karni Padegi"
The tablet is cheap, but the full experience costs extra.
Poco Smart Pen: Good for note-taking and basic drawing. Not Apple Pencil level, but works fine for students.
Keyboard: Decent travel, but lacks a trackpad.
Reality Check: You have to buy these separately. The box only has the tablet and charger.
5. Software: HyperOS - Hit or Miss?
It runs on HyperOS (based on Android 14).
Pros: The "Interconnectivity" features are cool. If you have a Poco phone, you can copy text on the phone and paste it on the tablet instantly.
Cons: Bloatware. Yes, even here. You might find some unnecessary apps pre-installed. Delete them first thing.
6. The Price & Final Verdict
Price: Around ₹23,999 (for 8GB/128GB 5G model).
Who Should Buy It?
Students: For reading PDFs (the big screen is a blessing) and attending online classes.
Movie Buffs: Best media consumption device under ₹25k.
Travelers: The 5G connectivity means you don't need to hunt for Wi-Fi.
Who Should Skip It?
Hardcore Gamers: Buy the Xiaomi Pad 6 or an iPad instead.
People who need compact devices: This is heavy (568g). You can't hold it in one hand for long.
GMBTech Rating: 4 / 5
(Marks cut for slow charging and average cameras—but honestly, who takes photos with a 12-inch tablet?)
